Tidak sampai 24 jam apabila penyanyi British, Adele mengumumkan yang dia bakal menyanyikan lagu tema untuk filem terbaru James Bond, Skyfall, lagu tersebut telah pun bocor ke internet dan mula mendapat perhatian di seluruh dunia.
Lagu berjudul Skyfall yang diambil dari tajuk yang sama dengan filem itu, bakal dilancarkan pada 5 Oktober ini bersesuaian dengan tarikh yang yang digelar pihak penerbit sebagai “James Bond Day” kerana meraikan ulang tahun ke 50 legasi James Bond, bermula pada 1962 menerusi filem Dr No.
Menariknya lagu ini ditulis oleh Adele sendiri yang turut bekerjasama dengan penerbit muzik, Paul Epworth. Gandingan mereka berdua sebelum ini berjaya menaikkan nama Adele dipersada antarabangsa menerusi lagu Rolling In The Deep.
Kritikan awal yang positif diterima menerusi lagu ini apabila ramai yang memuji akan selingan orkestra muzik tema Bond serta sentuhan klasik yang mengiringi suara Adele. Skyfall adalah filem ke-23 James Bond yang diarahkan Sam Mendes serta menampilkan aktor pujaan ramai, Daniel Craig yang kembali memegang watak ejen 007 ini.
